Why have a Permit?
While Utah is a "Constitutional Carry" state, obtaining a Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP) provides critical legal and practical advantages:
• Multi-State Reciprocity: Your right to carry shouldn't stop at the border. A Utah CFP is recognized in 35+ states, allowing for seamless travel.
• Federal School Zone Protection: The Federal Gun-Free School Zones Act generally prohibits firearms within 1,000 feet of a school. A state permit provides a specific legal exception that "permitless carry" does not.
• Faster, Cheaper Purchases: Skip the $7.50 background check fee and the waiting queue at gun stores. Your CFP acts as an instant verification.
• Law Enforcement Interactions: Presenting a CFP during a stop signals you are a vetted, lawabiding citizen, often de-escalating the situation.
• Essential Legal Knowledge: Our BCI-certified course covers Utah’s specific self-defense laws and "use of force" thresholds to help you stay on the right side of the law.

Basic Handgun Safety ($100): A 2- hour private, hands-on session. Text or email to schedule a time that works for you.
Range Work ($50): You will also pay for your range fees and bring your own ammunition. Eye wear and ear protection are required. Supplemental 1-hour live-fire sessions are available after completing the Basic course. Inquire when booking your class!
