My Philosophy
While carrying a firearm is a fundamental right, I believe it comes with the personal responsibility to master the essentials:
• Legal Literacy: Navigating the complex web of current laws and regulations.
• Safety First: Ensuring proper handling, secure storage, and regular maintenance.
• The Permit Advantage: Regardless of your experience level, a concealed carry permit offers significant legal and practical benefits that make life as a gun owner much simpler.

Why have a Permit?
While Utah is a "Constitutional Carry" state, obtaining a Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP) provides critical legal and practical advantages:
• Multi-State Reciprocity: Your right to carry shouldn't stop at the border. A Utah CFP is recognized in 35+ states, allowing for seamless travel.
• Federal School Zone Protection: The Federal Gun-Free School Zones Act generally prohibits firearms within 1,000 feet of a school. A state permit provides a specific legal exception that "permitless carry" does not.
• Faster, Cheaper Purchases: Skip the $7.50 background check fee and the waiting queue at gun stores. Your CFP acts as an instant verification.
• Law Enforcement Interactions: Presenting a CFP during a stop signals you are a vetted, lawabiding citizen, often de-escalating the situation.
• Essential Legal Knowledge: Our BCI-certified course covers Utah’s specific self-defense laws and "use of force" thresholds to help you stay on the right side of the law.
